Dr Mark Hill BVSc is the owner of Somerton Park Veterinary Clinic, a business dedicated to taking care of man's best friend, whatever animal that may be. Mark has a special interest in birds, reptiles, pocket pets, exotics and native animals. Mark has over 25 years experience in the veterinary profession with several years spent working with dolphins and sea lions at marineland and with a variety of animals at the Adelaide Zoo. He spent 12 years as the RSPCA vet and volunteers his time and expertise to SA Museum 's Marine Mammal department. He is a strong advocate for animal welfare and is the Animal Welfare Officer for Flinders University.
Jo Kennedy BSc, GradDipEd, DipVN, LLB is the practice manager and together with Mark set up the Somerton Park Veterinary Clinic 20 years ago. Jo has over 40 years experience as a veterinary nurse and the last 21 years was spent as a lecturer with the Veterinary and Applied Science Centre at TAFESA where she coordinated veterinary nurse training in SA and NT. She has a Certificate in Behavioural Medicine from Sydney University Veterinary Post Graduate Foundation and maintains an interest in animal behavioural problems. She is currently doing a Masters in Law focussing on animal law and criminology. She is a founding partner in a consultancy firm in Animal Law, Policy, and Education.
